THE CARE-FLARE ADVANTAGES

The battery life is important because the decision should be yours when the use of your warning lights and safety lights is finished. CARE-FLARE relies on classic batteries because they guarantee a longer lighting time than commercially available rechargeable batteries. CARE-FLARE can be operated for 70+ hours without changing batteries.

CARE-FLARE was developed to withstand adverse influences at your place of use for many years. This sturdy construction additionally ensures a long service life. 5-year warranty, service support and high availability of spare parts ensure long and reliable operation of CARE-FLARE.

CARE-FLARE’s bright light output is visible from over 2000 meters away. The 360° visibility and 140° directional luminosity, together with the higher design, ensure maximum visibility for your emergency forces even on hilly roads.

CARE-FLARE is built to stand securely at the point of use. Even in adverse conditions such as storms, snow, water or pressure waves from vehicles, CAR-FLARE stands safely at the scene and continues to reliably warn of danger.

CARE-FLARE is the perfect solution to draw attention to a wide variety of dangerous situations and to warn in an effective, safe and user-friendly way. The intuitive operation works with a single button to set the various light modes safely and quickly.

CARE-FLARE’s warning lights and safety lights are designed to be put into use quickly and effectively. In this regard, the weight and dimensions of the LED safety lights play a key role for rescuers. The devices are light enough to be used for longer periods of time in the field and yet heavy enough to have a secure stand at the scene.

CARE-FLARE is built to reduce your costs. On the one hand, CARE-FLARE is built to be stable and durable, and on the other hand, it is suitable for many different purposes. Especially compared to consumables such as illuminated fakles, CARE-FLARE saves you valuable money.

CAREFLARE® - Would you like a little more safety?

Flashlights, warning lights and flares can be found in thousands of different variants. In every shape and color, with or without LED and halogen. There is hardly anything that you can’t buy and hardly anything that the devices are supposedly incapable of doing. As pleasing as this variety is, in dangerous situations, rescue operations or situations with increased safety conditions, different and much higher requirements apply to the respective devices on the part of professionals and rescue professionals. We recommend paying attention to the following requirements:

Criterion 1 - Pay attention to the security promise

It is clear that there is no such thing as absolute safety. Neither with warning lights nor anywhere else in life. But there are products that have better conditions to ensure or even increase your safety during an operation. In the case of warning lights, this product offers you the highest level of protection if it allows people to clearly see where the danger zone is and, as a result, they behave with appropriate caution.

But of course there are some things that hinder or even prevent this reliable functioning of these products. The products may not have a secure stand and fall over, or they may simply be overwhelmed by heavy rain and dust or in extreme cold or heat. Or the complex settings of the lighting intervals and colors greatly slows down the time to readiness for use. Therefore, before purchasing, check the stable and robust construction and the ease of use even in the toughest conditions. The best thing to do is to order a test sample that your employees can put through its paces.

Criterion 2 - Try to estimate the service life

The service life promised by a product should also be an important criterion in product selection. You don’t want to re-equip the emergency vehicle, nor do you want to procure different models with different battery technology for replacements, because this means vehicle downtimes and increased training and service costs.

Of course, it is not directly possible to determine the expected service life. But there are indications such as: Long warranty periods of up to 5 years or the possibility of procuring spare parts and having the equipment repaired in the event of damage. Further clues are provided by the materials from which the products are made or whether the products are merely traded or manufactured in-house, as well as whether they are CE-certified or even patented, for example.

Criterion 3 - Calculate the effective operating costs

What a product really costs you is never decided in the purchase price. It is more correct to check the total price during a defined operating time. How much battery is consumed during operation? How often do devices have to be replaced outside the warranty period? How long downtimes have to be accepted? Products that are supposedly inexpensive to purchase can be considerably more expensive to use over time.

A good comparison can be made here between reusable and disposable products, because in some cases flammable flares are still used today despite their many disadvantages. They burn at high temperatures and can start fires and injure those who use them. They are difficult to handle, burn out quickly, pollute our air, and leave hazardous waste in the streets that pollutes our water. Again, comparing the costs incurred over time is highly recommended.

Criterion 4 - Very long luminous period provides comfort and safety

A warning light that no longer lights up is very dangerous and endangers the integrity of rescuers. Careful use of battery power is therefore mandatory, and this mostly means efficient electronics in the product. It is essential that the warning light also provides visual information should your battery power run low.

A light should therefore be able to warn persistently and strongly for well over 50 hours without having to constantly change batteries. Too small, too cheap or too cheap batteries are additionally crucial. The supposed advantage: The product becomes lighter or cheaper. But this is at the expense of the safety of all emergency forces.

Criterion 5 - Strong luminosity does not mean optimal warning at a distance

If you use a warning light, you want to be seen, and you want to be seen as early as reasonably possible. The later you are seen, the higher the risk and the danger for the emergency services. And here, too, there are definitely some points to watch out for. Roads, paths and squares are rarely completely flat. Even small hills can obstruct the view of the warning light, and it is almost irrelevant how strong the luminosity of the warning light is. Especially to mention here are the flares, which are mostly flat on the ground and thus have not little securing effect in slightly hilly terrain.

But of course it also depends on the luminosity itself. Lights that are too weak achieve only insufficient luminous distances and thus warn too little. They do not break through the attention threshold of the persons to be warned or cannot be distinguished from ambient lights. Daytime use of such products can be ruled out from the outset. It is obvious that those who want to build small and lightweight devices will rely on reduced luminosity if the lighting duration is to be correspondingly long. In addition, it makes a difference whether light is emitted directionally or is distributed by diffusing lenses. Professional products have an all-around diffusion for better general visibility at short distances and a directed light for warning in the distant distance.

Products recommended for extensive use therefore stand out from the ground to provide safety even in hilly areas. Professional products are also visible in a 360 degree angle and have an additional goods area (warning direction with increased luminosity) of more than 120 degrees and a visibility of significantly more than 1500 meters and an additional possibility to adjust the light intervals and flashing colors to the hazardous situation.

Criterion 6 - It's all no good if it doesn't stand safe

The purpose of a warning light can be different. If it is rather PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), the device is carried by the emergency forces on the body and should be accordingly handy and light. If warning lights are used to secure an operation site, they can be carried on the emergency vehicle, which allows for a more stable design. For example, a somewhat higher weight generally increases the stability of the products.

Wind and weather must not be allowed to knock a warning light over or prevent its sensible positioning any more than passing cars or trucks. The stand of the product must be safe and stable at all times. This applies in heavy rain, when water is flowing along the road, as well as in high water or when a snowstorm is raging or on sand or ice.

Criterion 7 - Easy to operate and quickly ready for use

In the event of an accident, seconds can be at stake. The products used must be intuitive to operate and not pose any great puzzles. Any delay has an immediate impact on the safety of both the rescuers and the injured parties. Take out, press the button and set up. This has to happen within seconds. It’s very simple: carry out a practical test with your emergency personnel.

Ideally, the products can be used in several ways. For example, to be able to give additional hand signals to warn people.

See for yourself: products that have a maximum number of light colors, light intervals and light settings are often complex to operate, not to mention that such complex electronics require a higher proportion of battery power.

Knobs, switches and dials are also always parts that can fail, they often increase the need for service and replacement parts and are generally prone to failure or water ingress. Less is more here and has a positive impact on operability and reliability. Bring samples of the products to your emergency personnel to test them through and through. We are sure: Simple and reliable products will win the race.

Criterion 8 - Environmentally friendly

In this day and age, we want to be sparing with the world’s resources. This also applies to warning lights. Therefore, ask whether the products have to be thrown away or whether they can be separated into their raw materials and reused. Find out whether discarded products are taken back and remanufactured and whether there are spare parts that significantly extend the service life in terms of a better Co2 footprint. Inquire about what materials the product is made of and where it was manufactured.

Warning lights can be an environmentally conscious alternative to flammable torches, for example. Their dangerous smoke, chemicals and materials are not only harmful to the environment, but also increase the risk of injury to emergency personnel. Not to mention the fact that there are often flammable substances at the scene of the incident that make it impossible to respond. This is exactly when increased safety for all would be indicated.
